CEO Thought Leadership Dialogues: Courageous Leadership | Woolworths Inclusive Justice Initiative
February 28, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am
The National Business Initiative (NBI) in partnership with Woolworths, under the NBI’s Social Transformation Bold and Transformative Leadership Pathway, is hosting our fifth CEO Thought Leadership Dialogue, as we explore Courageous Leadership in Driving Transformation.
The NBI’s CEO Thought Leadership Dialogue Series is an influential virtual engagement platform for business leaders. It provides an opportunity to explore the challenges, opportunities, lessons and best practices essential to our economic recovery, transformation within workplaces and a just and inclusive culture, whilst strengthening business’ role in society.
In this dialogue with Zyda Rylands (Woolworths Food’s CEO), Chantal Butler (People Director for Woolworths SA) and Zinzi Mgolodela (Woolworths Director of Corporate Affairs), we will explore Woolworths Inclusive Justice Initiative (IJI) journey. This includes understanding how the journey began, Woolworths’s approach to addressing systemic inequality in tangible ways and the importance of evolving and accelerating efforts to make a sustainable, meaningful difference for people and communities – “doing good as we do business.”
In conversation with NBI’s Gugu McLaren-Ushewokunze (Head: Social Transformation) and Bridgette Mdangayi (Programme Manager: Social Transformation), Zyda Rylands, Chantal Butler and Zinzi Mgolodela will detail how the Inclusive Justice Initiative is a natural next step in the evolution of Woolworths’s Good Business Journey. They will discusss how the Inclusive Justice Initiative aims to build Woolworths into an organisation that not only embraces diversity, equity, and inclusion, but uses its influence and reach to help build a society where more people feel they can embrace their individuality, be accepted, participate and belong.
Call to Action:
The NBI aims to galvanise CEO’s & thought leaders to drive and champion collective action through implementable and innovative approaches for transformation, whilst also taking action to prioritise workplace inclusion so as to drive business commitment and advance transformation as a normative culture, both in the workplace and more broadly in society.
