Background on CFA South Africa
Funded by the United Kingdom Department of Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), the CFA is a four-year technical assistance programme that works closely with eight emerging countries, including South Africa; supporting countries to develop a sustainable pipeline of bankable, low-carbon projects and identifying suitable financing options.
The main objective of the CFA South Africa programme is to improve the flow of climate finance in South Africa, in order to support the implementation of South Africa’s enhanced climate goals or Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), thereby delivering emissions reductions and raising overall climate ambition.
