SUMMARY:6 Online Workshops in October/November 2020: Developing a Green Finance Taxonomy for South Africa
DESCRIPTION:“Stakeholder engagements to inform the development of a Green Finance Taxonomy for South Africa” \nUnder the leadership of National Treasury\, and with support from IFC (part of the World Bank Group)\, the National Business Initiative (NBI) and the Carbon Trust are working to develop a national Green Finance Taxonomy. This is one of the key  recommendations of the Financing a Sustainable Economy draft technical paper\, recently published by National Treasury.  \nBuilding on complementary initiatives and expertise in the South African market\, the first national Taxonomy will be developed iteratively\, informed by a series of targeted and focused stakeholder engagements.   \nWe have the pleasure of inviting you to participate in a user-group specific workshops to inform the development of a Green Finance Taxonomy.    \nThe objective of this consultation process is to collect your viewpoints and preferences as representatives of your respective organisations\, networks\, and communities of practice to inform the design\, priorities and development of a first version of a Green Finance Taxonomy for South Africa. \nDetails of the 6 workshops are as follows: \n\nWorkshop 1: (Monday\, 12 October 2020) will be focusing on Policy Makers and Government Agencies as a critical user group.
