SUMMARY:Innovation as an enabler to improve water-use efficiency in South Africa
DESCRIPTION:South Africa is one of the world’s most biodiverse countries – yet its ecological systems are increasingly under pressure from climate change\, land use change and economic activity. \nWith the Global Biodiversity Framework (including Target 15) calling on business to assess\, reduce and disclose nature-related risks and impacts\, the role of the private sector is now central to advancing a credible\, nature-positive future. \nThe National Business Initiative (NBI) and the Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT)\, supported by Business for Nature\, invite your organisation to participate in the second module of the Nature Action Accelerator – part of a structured\, practical four part series designed to enable South African businesses move from awareness to the operational integration of nature into their systems.     \n\n        \n                    \n                \n                        \n        \n                        \n                        \n                        \n                    \n\n        \n    \n                                \n\n    \n    \n                    What the Accelerator Delivers            \n    \n\n\n\n\n        \n        Built around the globally recognised ACT-D Framework\, the programme supports companies to: \n\nAssess:Understand nature-related impacts\, dependencies\, risks and opportunities\nCommit:Set clear\, science-aligned ambitions and targets\nTransform: Integrate nature into core business decision making\, operations\, supply chains and investment processes\nDisclose:Align with evolving nature-related reporting expectations and requirements\n\nThe second module of the Nature Action Accelerator will focus on the ‘Commit’ phase of the ACT-D framework. \nThe session will guide companies in translating assessment insights gathered in the ‘Assess’ phase into credible commitments\, including how to: \n\nDefine science-aligned ambition on nature\nAlign commitments with the Global Biodiversity Framework (Target 15)\nIntegrate commitment setting into strategic planning and governance processes\n    \n\n        \n                        \n        \n                        \n                        \n                        \n                            \n                \n                    \n\n        \n        This engagement will also continue strengthening practical capability for organisations undertaking or preparing for nature related assessments\, strategy integration and governance alignment – but with a strong focus on helping companies move from understanding to making meaningful\, measurable commitments to nature action. \nWhy Participate? \nBuild practical capability to integrate nature into strategy\, risk and governance processes – while engaging directly with peers\, policymakers and technical experts shaping the agenda.
