SUMMARY:Project Close Out Event: Collective Climate Action with the Private Sector
DESCRIPTION:South Africa and the global economy are at a critical inflection point. Systemic risks – energy insecurity\, water scarcity\, unemployment and inequality – are no longer peripheral risks. They threaten business resilience\, competitiveness and long-term value. \nGlobal pressures including Environmental\, Social\, and Governance (ESG)\, investor expectations\, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and climate targets are also reshaping competitiveness. At the same time\, significant opportunities in green economy investments\, low-carbon economies\, climate finance and large-scale skills transformation present pathways to accelerate and inclusive growth\, unlocking growth and stability. No single company can tackle these issues alone\, which is why the National Business Initiative (NBI) believes that collective action and decisive leadership at scale is required. \nAs a strategic and trusted partner to business for over 30 years\, the NBI is convening a series of exclusive\, closed-door roundtables hosted by its CEO\, Shameela Soobramoney\, the NBI Board\, and a curated group of C-Suite executives from NBI member companies\, which are also South Africa’s leading companies. These intimate conversations will focus on the business case for sustainability as a core driver of competitiveness and long-term value. \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n The National Business Initiative (NBI) cordially invites you to participate in this exclusive\, roundtable session. This engagement is designed to move beyond dialogue\, enabling alignment\, identifying shared priorities and unlocking collaborative action to address systemic risks. We are pleased to welcome Khule Duma\, Portfolio Lead for Programmes and Partnerships in the Private Office of the President\, who will offer insights and demonstrate how business and government can partner more effectively to drive collective impact at scale. \n\n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n\n \n \n Attending leaders will: \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \nGain direct insight from the NBI\, its Board and peer executives on the strategic implications of systemic risks and sustainability for business competitiveness and resilience.\nMove beyond ideas into impact.
