SUMMARY:Nature Action Accelerator: Module 4 A South African Perspective on a Global Shift Toward Nature
DESCRIPTION:The Northern Cape Provincial Government and the National Business Initiative (NBI) invite you to attend an in-person session: “Exploring South Africa’s New Energy\, Critical Minerals\, Manufacturing and Logistics Frontier – A Northern Cape Provincial Government Showcase.” \nThe Northern Cape is rapidly transitioning from a traditionally extractive province\, rooted in mining and agriculture\, to a national and regional leader in South Africa’s new green economy. With the availability of large-scale renewable energy\, emerging green hydrogen opportunities and enabling transmission infrastructure\, the Province is positioning itself at the forefront of the energy transition. \nCentral to this transition is the Province’s focus on leveraging its natural resources\, critical minerals and consumption base to stimulate industrialisation through value addition and manufacturing. The convergence of mining\, agriculture\, infrastructure development\, and the green energy revolution creates a compelling platform for business collaboration across the value chain. The Provincial Government is creating an enabling environment for business by investing in infrastructure and looking to partner with the private sector to unlock opportunities. \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n\n \n \n This in-person event will provide a platform for business to engage directly with the Northern Cape Provincial Government on: \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \nInvestment-ready opportunities\nPartnerships\nEnabling policies\nExploring how the private sector can co-invest\, co-develop\, and scale solutions that support sustainable industrial growth\n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n\n \n \n Speakers include: \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \nZamani Saul: Premier\, Northern Cape\nShameela Soobramoney: Chief Executive Officer\, National Business Initiative (NBI)\nMpumi Zikalala: Chief Executive Officer\, Kumba Iron Ore\nThabo Kekana: Deputy Director General at the Department of Electricity and Energy\nVenus Blennies-Magage: MEC for Finance\, Economic Development\, and Tourism\, Northern Cape\nRepresentative from the Minerals Council of South Africa\n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n\n \n \n Event Details: \n \n\n\n\n\n \n Date: Wednesday\, 18 March 2026Time: 10:00 – 12:00 (SAST)Venue: Sandton
