‘Net zero isn’t feasible for agriculture sector’

The study, conducted by the National Business Initiative, Business Unity South Africa (BUSA), and the Boston Consulting Group in the US, assessed what it would take for South Africa to reach net zero by 2050 and to ensure a ‘just transition’. It stated that for the country, responding to climate change was fundamentally about ensuring future economic competitiveness and lifting its people out of poverty, inequality, and unemployment, while contributing to the global goal of reducing CO₂ emissions.
