South African
Pavilion Events

The South Africa Pavilion at the UN Climate Conference, COP27, in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt in November 2022, is hosted jointly by the South African Government and business, coordinated by the Department of Forestry, Fisheries, and the Environment (DFFE) and National Business Initiative (NBI) respectively.

COP27 seeks renewed solidarity between countries to deliver on the landmark Paris Climate Agreement, for people and the planet.

The COP27 South Africa Pavilion, provides an excellent platform for business and government to:

  • Showcase South Africa’s efforts towards co-creating and implementing a Just Transition to net zero emissions by 2050, while ensuring a resilient and competitive economy and society
  • Mobilise finance for our transition, building resilience and adapting to a warming world
  • Build credible partnerships to mobilise climate action based on transparent leadership
  • Support the implementation of a Just Transition in the face of existing climate impacts

We invite you to participate in our COP27 South Africa Pavilion events taking place online and in Egypt at Sharm El-Sheikh, from the 8th to the 17th of November 2022. In line with this year’s focus for COP27, the South Africa Pavilion events are designed to give you insight into the bold steps being taken by Government in collaboration with business and key stakeholders towards enhanced ambition on climate change action.

Please note that all of the below events will take place at the South Africa Pavilion, Blue Zone, Area B, pavilion number 24 – Sharm El-Sheikh International Convention Center (SHICC) EL Salam Road,Um Marikha Bay, South Sinai Governorate.
