Mmaphefo Thwala: NBI’s Project Manager: Water last week participated in a panel discussion at the Department of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries Women in Environment Dialogue, which took place 28 to 29 August 2019 in Gauteng. During the discussion on “Elevating the role of women in the climate change response – ensuring social inclusion in the transition to a lower carbon and climate resilient society”, Mmaphefo highlighted that applying a gender lens to climate change is necessary because women are at the forefront of the climate change crisis…hence climate change action needs to be gender responsive.
