Accelerating Corporate Action on GBV – Women’s Equality: Digital Access and Rights to Expression We-Dare Repository Event
June 2 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
We are pleased to invite you to join a high-level engagement focused on strengthening the private sector’s collective contribution to addressing Gender Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) in South Africa.
About the We-Dare Network
The We-Dare Network is an international, multi-stakeholder partnership bringing together researchers, companies, NGOs, policymakers, and practitioners united in the mission to eradicate GBV. Through collaboration, digital innovation, and knowledge sharing, the Network advances
Why This Engagement Matters
In December 2025, President Cyril Ramaphosa declared GBVF a national disaster- underscoring the urgency of stronger, coordinated action across society.
While the private sector is often perceived as inactive on this issue, our engagements indicate otherwise: many companies are in the main active in confronting GBVF, both internally and within the communities they serve. However, these efforts remain fragmented and generally unnoticed.
Launched in September 2025, the We-Dare GBV Repository aims to address this gap by providing a centralised platform to document corporate initiatives, facilitate peer learning, and strengthen action on GBVF.
The Repository supports companies to contribute to their ESG reporting, SDG contributions; and Pillars 1 (Accountability, Coordination and Leadership) and 6 (Research and Information Management) of the National Strategic Plan on GBVF.
