Nature Action Accelerator: Module 4 A South African Perspective on a Global Shift Toward Nature
June 12 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm
South Africa is one of the world’s most biodiverse countries – yet its ecological systems are increasingly under pressure from climate change, land use change and economic activity.
With the Global Biodiversity Framework (including Target 15)calling on business to assess, reduce and disclose nature-related risks and impacts, the role of the private sector is now central to advancing a credible, nature-positive future.
The National Business Initiative (NBI) and the Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT), supported by Business for Nature, invite you to participate in the fourth and final module of the Nature Action Accelerator. This concludes a structured four-part series supporting South African businesses to move from awareness to the practical integration of nature into strategy, operations, and accountability.
What the Accelerator delivers
Built around the globally recognised ACT D Framework, the programme supports companies to:
Assess: Understand nature-related impacts, dependencies, risks and opportunities
Commit: Set clear, science-aligned ambitions and targets
Transform: Integrate nature into core business decision-making, operations, supply chains and investment processes
Disclose: Align with evolving nature-related reporting expectations and requirements
Module 4: Disclose
This final session focuses on the ‘Disclose’ phase of the ACT-D framework, supporting organisations to strengthen transparency, accountability, and credibility in their nature strategies. It introduces the core elements of effective disclosure, including what to measure, how to track progress, and how to communicate performance in line with emerging global and local frameworks.
This module will guide organisations in:
Understanding what to measure and disclose in relation to nature performance
Aligning disclosures with leading frameworks, including TNFD, IFRS S1, GRI 101, and JSE guidance
Learning from a South African business case study on TNFD-aligned disclosure
Strengthening internal reporting, governance, and accountability processes
A strong emphasis will be placed on translating implementation into clear, decision-useful disclosure that builds stakeholder trust.
Why participate?
Build practical capability to integrate nature into strategy, risk, and governance processes, while engaging directly with peers, policymakers and technical experts shaping the agenda. Position your organisation at the forefront of South Africa’s transition to a credible, nature-positive economy
The Nature Action Accelerator offers a unique opportunity to strengthen corporate leadership on biodiversity, support ambitious national policy, and strengthen organisational resilience.
